Vallarta to Host the 10th National Clean Beaches Event

In June, Puerto Vallarta will host the Tenth National Clean Beaches event, where attendance of about 700 participants, including officials of the 17 coastal states and municipalities, the federal government and certification bodies are expected. Luis Gonzalez Guevara, director of Municipal Environment and Ecology announced that the work of organizing this great event has already begun.

He noted that prior to this encounter, in the month of May, Mayor Ramón Guerrero Martínez will have already sworm in as the new present of the Interstate Committee for Clean Beaches Jalisco – Nayarit, which will strengthen the tasks of that this administrations holds in the matter of certifying spaces, and will allow better organization of this event, which after several years, will take place again in the city and will be transcendent to the destination. In addition, good news are expected in regards of the certification process of two new beaches in Vallarta.

They are seeking to certify Holi and Mismaloya beaches.

González Guevara informed that in face of this national event, and as was instructed by the Mayor, actions will be taken to certify two new beaches, as are Holi and Mismaloya, where probes have been made to verify the quality of the water, and that has the infrastructure and advantage in meeting the requirements of the parameters of national certification, which would mean that soon, Puerto Vallarta will have 6 certified beaches.

He also mentioned that in the next months, the beaches will be visited by the verifiers, and there are high possibilities that the clean beaches event, it will already count on the distinction of these spaces.

He emphasized that this accomplishment will be possible through the efforts of the different social activists in the locality and municipal authorities, who together, seek to benefit of Puerto Vallarta, it’s inhabitants and visitors.

“The certification is not made by the municipality, but it’s a joint task with society to keep the beaches clean, respect the use of public spaces, keeping them safe and clean is a collaborative effort and shared responsibility,” he said.
