It is Sought to Regulate the Cultural – Commercial Activity of the Pier

cultural-comercial-activity-regulation2Municipal authorities got together with local plastic artists to present the program Regulation and Administration of the Cultural - Commercial Activities, through which it is sought to join efforts for the recovery of public spaces, give order to the activities and identify the problems and opportunities for the improvement for the work of this sector.

It was a total of 50 graphic artists who attended this meeting, in which there was the presence of the director of the Vallartan Institute of Culture, Sergio Zepeda Moreno, the sub-director of the institution, Gerardo Daniel Padilla, the councilwoman Guadalupe Anaya Hernández and the under-manager of Inspection and Rules, José Raúl Agraz.

The representative of the Management of Inspection and Rules, was the one in charge of presenting the objectives of this program, which he said, besides giving order to the activities of this sector, allow to neutralize the bad practices, the disloyal competition and the differences there are among artists; it also contributes to the rescue of the downtown area, the better use of public spaces and the strengthening of the working conditions of the plastic artists who use the pier to carry out their creations and the promotion of their works.

He explained that these actions carry a legal framework, and for their development, a coordination network is being integrated in between the Management of Inspection and Rules, the Management of Registry and Licenses, the System for the Integral Development of the Family and the Vallartan Institute of Culture, as well as the council commissions of Education, Inspection and of Equity and Human Development that are presided by the councilwomen Guadalupe Anaya and Doris Ponce, respectively.

For his part, the director of the Vallartan Institute of Culture, Sergio Zepeda, pointed out the commitment of the municipal government with the local artistic sector, "we want to privilege their development as plastic artists for the patrimonial value that all of you represent towards Puerto Vallarta”. He added that the first action in this route will be the registration and rising of a new registry of those involved, besides the delivery of official IDs which will certify them before the different municipal authorities.

He advanced that work is already being done in the management of resources before the Ministry of Culture of the State, with the intention of generating the necessary equipment to strengthen the promotion of the artistic activities of the city, for which they have already settled the foundations for the creation of the Parque Los Artistas, as well as the conditions, so that in the second semester of this 2014, the Cultural Television Channel of Puerto Vallarta starts working; tools which will be at the disposal of the Vallartan creators at all times.

The plastic creators were an important part of this first dialog, as they also supplied their proposal about the different lines and strategies that should be followed so that this program achieves the proposed objectives.
