samanboAlready in its second year, this spicy festival will showcase brilliant choreography, workshops, dancing, a grand concert and a professional competition. The Riviera Nayarit will open its doors to musicians and dancers from all around the Americas and Europe.

EarthCheck Silver bolet nThe Hard Rock Hotel is the eighth hotel to receive this certificate, awarded to businesses that exemplify a commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

The Riviera Nayarit, which prides itself on being a destination that’s pro the environment and the community, recently received its eight EarthCheck certificate.

This time it was the Hard Rock Hotel that recently received a 2014 Silver Certificate from EarthCheck, which it obtained once it passed all of the sustainability procedures needed to achieve accreditation.

EarthCheck is the top environmental benchmarking and certification program in the world.

“I think this gives us one more attribute to add to our list when it comes to selling. It also demonstrates to both the domestic and international tourist that nowadays there are hotels in the Riviera Nayarit which are sensitive to the conservation of the environment, especially since climate change is a global issue,” said Luis Entrala Fábregas, Director of the Hard Rock Hotel.

In order to become certified the interested party must first conduct a check of the environmental health of the company, undergo several benchmarking programs and evaluate its environmental and social impact.

Afterwards it must follow a sustainable plan of action, implement changes in its procedures and its personnel training, verification and compensation, as well as in its monitoring and marketing.

Seven hotels in the Riviera Nayarit have already obtained an EarthCheck certification; the recently inaugurated Iberostar Playa Mita is currently undergoing the procedures necessary to obtain its own certificate.

The list of hotels that are already certified includes Mayan Palace, Grand Mayan, Ocean Breeze, Grand Bliss, Grand Luxxe, Grand Palladium and Hotel Cinco.

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau would like to congratulate the Hard Rock Hotel for this achievement, which serves to create an even more attractive destination for tourists visiting Mexico’s Pacific Treasure.

sbThe Cultural Capital of the Riviera Nayarit invites everyone to view Cuaderno de artista by Rodrigo Ballester, on display at Bodega 3.
In step with its title of Cultural Capital of the Riviera Nayarit, San Pancho is extending an invitation to view a new art exhibit to be displayed at Bodega 3, an exhibition space that recently opened its doors to presentations by artists not belonging to the San Pancho Collective.

The current expo is titled Cuaderno de artista: Guorquin proces, created by self-taught plastic artist, Rodrigo Ballester, originally from Xalapa, Veracruz.

The inauguration of this particular gallery will be on April 30th at 8 p.m., a date that falls on Mexico’s celebration of Children’s Day. The artwork produced by Ballester will occupy the entire Bodega 3 gallery floor in order to fully display his splendid pieces.

From the exhibit description: “Rodrigo Ballester gives us a glimpse of the intimate life of the artist through his journals (cuadernos) and works in process. These journals contain several formal structures that eventually become concrete projects, but since they are notebooks they also contain telephone numbers and doodles drawn during phone conversations, as well as thoughts, poems, songs and mantras.”

“These journals compile a part of the intimate life and day-to-day thoughts of someone who tries to create a life from everything he knows how to do and does it in a conscious manner. An installation of bamboo, a bamboo treatment machine, a metallic mural, monotypes, a video and a serious of random objects emerge from the notes and materialize, little by little, until they become the exhibit itself,” concludes the description.

The first exhibit recently held in this cultural/artistic space was a success; with this second expo San Pancho continues to expand its frontiers through art.

The unique way the Cultural Capital of the Riviera Nayarit presents itself to tourists with cultural pursuits is commendable. Presentations like these work in sync to continue to position Mexico’s Pacific Treasure with this particular segment of visitors.

The town also maintains its commitment to bring culture to the local population, helping to raise awareness through its art of the different ways to benefit the region.

dianThe money raised on that night, will also celebrate the children of the different delegations.

brasilianThanks to the FAM trip organized by the MTB in Sao Paulo in conjunction with Copa Airlines, the Brazilian production company, Record, produced several shows about Jalisco and Nayarit, which will air in 60 Brazilian cities.

The Sao Paulo Mexico Tourism Board (MTB) organized a FAM trip together with Copa Airlines for the Televisión de Brasil show, Por ai, produced by Record.
Various shows were produced in Guadalajara from March 17th through 23rd then the team went via highway to Puerto Vallarta, ending their trip in the Riviera Nayarit. The programs will be seen in 60 Brazilian cities with an audience of more than five million TV viewers.

Por ai has aired for seven years and is focused on entertainment including celebrity interviews, theater, movie scripts, adventure, curiosities, photography, beauty, health and sports.

The team began in Guadalajara, moving to Tlaquepaque, Tequila and Ahualulco before reaching Puerto Vallarta.

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) coordinated the arrival of the two hosts and the cameraman to Mexico’s Pacific Treasure.

The first place they visited was La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, the Nautical Capital of the Riviera Nayarit, where they took in the Marina Riviera Nayarit, considered the most modern in the Pacific.

The trip happily coincided with the Mexico Cup Regatta, so they were able to witness the J24 sailing competition. There were five Brazilian teams participating in that category, and it was a great way to promote the Bay and it’s fantastic capacity for nautical and aquatic sports.

After a visit to Bucerías, the Brazilian journalists were taken to the Capital of Surf, the hippie chic town of Sayulita. This was followed by a tour through the Cultural Capital of San Pancho and a look at the different civil associations involved in art and culture.

They also enjoyed the requisite visit to the exclusive and luxurious Punta Mita, as well as Litibí, which was a nice contrast to the adventure and nature represented by a trip to the Marietas Islands.

The MTB in Sao Paulo hopes to incentivize the Brazilian public to come travel to the Mexican Pacific aboard Copa Airlines, which flies from Brazil to Guadalajara via Panamá, so they can enjoy the many attractions offered by the Pearl of Western Mexico all the way to the Pacific coast.
