Recently the drama about family and school bullying, "Despues de Lucia" by Mexican director Michel Franco, won an award at the Cannes Film Festival for best film in the category 'Un certain regard "(With Certain Regard).

The Mayor of Puerto Vallarta, Salvador Gonzalez Resendiz said that part of the movie was filmed in our beautiful tourist destination.

"It confirms the promotional work being done to project to Puerto Vallarta onto an international stage and after the prize won by “Despues de Lucia” it will be easier for the director and producers sell it, which ensures that a large number of moviegoers can see it and begin to consider Puerto Vallarta as one of its options business trip or vacation, "said the mayor.

The story follows Alexandra (Tessa Norvind) who after losing her mother Lucia moves with her father Robert (Hernan Mendoza), a man depressed by the loss of his wife, from the coast of Puerto Vallarta to Mexico City, and her dealing with the changes in her life.
