weekThirty-six restaurants in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit are set to participate in the tenth anniversary edition of Restaurant Week. Produced by Vallarta Lifestyles Publishing Group, the sought-after event takes place May 15 - 31 every year. In this occasion, it is sponsored by Puerto Vallarta’s Tourism Bureau (FIDETUR), Riviera Nayarit’s Conventions & Visitors Bureau, Mexico’s Restaurant Chamber of Commerce (CANIRAC) and Bay Vallarta, a bi-monthly publication.

Vallarta Lifestyles’ Restaurant Week is the only event of its kind in all of Mexico. During the event, which lasts 17 days, participating restaurants offer three-course menus—with three options per course—at a set price of either $199 or $299 pesos per person, tips or drinks not included.

A total of 119 different restaurants have participated in Vallarta Lifestyles’ Restaurant Week during its first decade. The average annual participation is 36 restaurants with the lowest number of participants in 2010 (31) and the highest in 2012 (45). 25 restaurants have participated at least twice and continue to do so, consecutively. If you take that number into account and factor the annual average participation, the percentage of returning restaurants is 69%, confirming the event’s place among the most important culinary festivals in the region.

It’s important to highlight the nine renowned restaurants that have participated in every single edition of Vallarta Lifestyles’ Restaurant Week: Archie’s Wok, Café des Artistes, Daiquiri Dick’s, El Arrayán, Kaiser Maximilian, La Leche (formerly La Petit), Le Kliff, The River Café and Trio.

To explore the menus offered by all 36 participants, please visit: Restaurant Week

Editors Note (5/10):  We just heard from Vallarta Shores Condo Hotel (one of my personal favorites) that sits directly on the beach at Los Muertos (www.vallartashores.com).  They only have a couple of condos left for Restaurant Week.  It is a great place to relax and absorb a glorious sunset before dinner at your favorite restaurant.  You can reach Daniel to reserve one of the last condos at (322) 222-3939 (US/Canada (800) 228-4552).
