SEAPAL Vallarta says an urgent repair to a line supplying the San Francisco Tank will affect 139 neighborhoods and residential developments in the city’s north starting Friday, July 31.
SEAPAL Vallarta reported that water service will be temporarily suspended in 139 neighborhoods and residential developments in northern Puerto Vallarta as the Puerto Vallarta–Las Varas Highway Concessionaire carries out urgent leak-repair work. The interruption is expected to affect the equivalent of 40 percent of the city, according to the utility.
The work is taking place within the concessionaire’s project to relocate drinking-water infrastructure. SEAPAL said the repair involves the supply line that feeds the San Francisco Tank, a storage tank in the city’s water system. Service suspension is scheduled to begin during the afternoon of Friday, July 31.
Water service is expected to begin returning gradually from the night of Saturday, August 1, starting with neighborhoods in lower-lying areas of Puerto Vallarta. SEAPAL said restoration will advance as water levels and system pressure recover. Neighborhoods in the higher parts of El Pitillal are estimated to begin receiving service between the night of Sunday, August 2, and the morning of Monday, August 3.
The affected area includes the northern hotel zone, upper El Pitillal, the delegations of Las Juntas and Las Mojoneras, and neighborhoods and developments including Marina Vallarta, Versalles, Fluvial Vallarta, Aramara, Vallarta 500, Villas Río, La Vena, Las Aralias and Coapinole, among others.
SEAPAL asked residents to store water on Friday, July 31, before the interruption and to use the resource rationally during the affected period. The utility said system tanks had good storage levels before the event and that it will supervise the repair to support an orderly restoration in the shortest possible time.
