Three different species of whales migrate to Bandera’s Bay warm waters and the most sighted is the humpback whale.

The Humpback Whale, also called La Yubarta, is one of the largest species in the world. An adult whale grows to 15-19 meters long and weighing approximately 36,000 kg and their calves weigh 1.5 tons at birth and measured 4-5 meters.

These beautiful animals travel through all oceans and seas of the world, typically migrating up to 25,000 km each year to perform their mating ritual between the months of December to March.

During their stay in the waters of Bandera’s Bay whales are often seen doing their mating rituals and large jumps in the water.
