The Destination with the Greatest Number of Clean Beaches is Riviera Nayarit

Riviera Nayarit is the destination with the greatest number of certified clean beaches in Mexico, with six. The Office of Visitors and Conventions of Riviera Nayarit received the results of 2013 corresponding to the sampling for the maintenance of the certifications of the five certified beaches of the municipalities of Banderas Bay.

It is also being sought to certify another beach, although it is still in its initial stage. The Integral Touristic Project Costa Capomo, is looking this year to obtain one more certification this year in this matter.

"Part of the project of Fonatur (The National Fund for Tourism Promotion) for this year, is to carry out all the studies and procedures to obtain this certification", commented the regional delegate for Nayarit, Francisco José Méndez Vargas.

In the sample that is made to determine the quality of the sea water, to be considered a clean beach, it should show less than 100 enterococcus according to the parameters of the norms that it handles.

The beaches of Riviera Nayarit that are certified, constantly show around 10 enterococcus per each 100 ml. Even in the rainy season, when the sea is more mixed, they have not passed from 91 enterococcus.
