008Puerto Vallarta’s Marina is like a boundary within a boundary.

It is a very exclusive Marina, with Yates, boats, cruises and a beautiful tournament golf course specially designed by Joe Finger. All of the Marine area is a little more exclusive and a bit more expensive than other areas of Vallarta. There, one can find many excellent stores, good and reasonable priced restaurants, as well as first class gourmet restaurants, cafes, boutiques, bakery stores.

It has a big supermarket, a grocery store, and a mall (Plaza Marina).

The view and relaxed atmosphere make of the Marina an excellent place for couples and families, to walk around in the afternoons. The Yates and boats, the buildings, the ocean view, and other nameless details, make a perfect background for pictures and for happy memories.

Most of the hotels and luxury resorts in Puerto Vallarta, including Marriot, Velas Vallarta, Westin among many others, are concentrated in the Marina.

Puerto Vallarta’s Marine has its own light house; but it is mostly a decorative one because the buildings around it do not allow the light house to fulfill its purpose and function the way it is suppose to.

On the way to the light house (Faro) you will find the Faro Bar (a very original name). At this bar you are able to enjoy a good drink and an excellent view of the Marina, of the Sierra Madre mountain range, and the very romantic sun sets. You can also listen to live music, which makes a romantic date, even a more romantic one.

The Vista Vallarta Jack Nicklaus golf course was open to the public on April 2001, and it is a Jack Nicklaus signature. On April 2001, this golf course was chosen as the venue for the EMC World Golf Championship.

The field is located at the highest areas of the property. From the field, the players have the opportunity to, not only enjoy the experience of playing in a worldwide famous golf course, but also to enjoy the most beautiful view of the Marine: the Bay and The splendor of Puerto Vallarta.

It is an 18 holes, 7073 yards and 72 par golf course, which stimulates to play closer attention to the greens. As it is expected of a Nicklaus’ designs, it has generous areas for the drives; but the green areas also have rolling hills which brings to mind a mini golf field but in big format.

Vista Vallarta’s golf field, Tom Weiskopf, was open to the public on November first 2001. It was designed by Tom Weiskopf, and it is a dramatic contrast with the golf field designed by Nicklaus at the same Vista Vallarta. It is different, but, it also offers an spectacular scenery.

Tom Weiskopf golf course was also a site for the 2002 EMC World Cup Tournament. It is a perfect place to enjoy the extraordinary view of Bahia de Banderas, and the Sierra Madre. So, if golf is your favorite sport, do not miss the opportunity to play at this field when you visit Vallarta.
