In order to prevent, treat and eliminate marginal urban work, on Friday opened the Liaison Office for Homeless People in the facilities of the System for Integral Family Development (DIF) of Puerto Vallarta.
The president of DIF Vallarta, Magaly Fregoso, said that the goal of the office is to provide different opportunities for people to enable them to earn an income, especially so that they don't run the risk of living on the street. She also added that through the institution of social assistance, links will be created to care for people with disabilities, street performers, homeless, mentally ill and children, for this end there is the availability of experts who will answer and channel them to the relevant offices, so that users are able to resolve their situation and stop working on the streets.
Nestor Rodrigo Gomez Villa, legal assistant manager of the DIF and coordinator of the Liaison Office, reported that to date 45 people have been treated, of which only 6 are from this city. He said that the people in the streets will be supported for the management of proceedings before the departments of the three levels of government as well as the DIF institution. Furthermore advice will be provided to obtain a birth certificate, the voter credential, and the procedure to access the popular insurance.
Note that the care for the people will be carried out under a computer system, which will concentrate the information that enables the municipality departments to determine the status of each of the persons and at the same time provide the services.
Through the office links agencies like the Municipal Council of Family, Health Region VIII, Human Rights, Regulations, Licensing and Registration, Firefighters and Disaster Prevention, Assistant Manager of Education, Institute of Culture of Vallarta, Comudis, Institute for Women , Citizen Safety, Citizen Participation, Social Development, among other agencies will be created.
The event was also attended by the aldermen Othniel Barragan, who chairs the Committee of Public Safety and Doris Ponce of Welfare.
