The municipal government fulfills the desire of the families with the smallest incomes to havedecent and safe housing.

The mayor, Ramon Guerrero Martinez, held on Friday, the fifteenth delivery of relief 'Casa Digna', to about 500 homes in the colonies of Mariano Otero, Barrio Santa Maria, Hermosa Provincia, La Herradura, Lomas del Pedregal, Campestre Las Palmas, Ignacio Luis Vallarta, Bugambilias, Lopez Mateos, Lazaro Cardenas, 5 de Diciembre, Centro, Agua Azul and Valentin Gomez Farias, representing a total of 500 thousand beneficiaries in this area of the city.

The mayor recalled that this was one of the commitments made since his campaign, to support the most vulnerable families and improve their living conditions, "They said that it could not be delivered to the people, to the poor people. They said that this program could not be done, that it was a lie; but today this is a reality, yes we can do things, we can help people who have less, it is a commitment of this government to make a reality the desire and purpose that each and every one of you has, of getting a decent home, a safe home, where your family can be safe."

He noted that since the arrival of this government, hard work is being done to respond to the confidence of the citizenry. Proof of this is that in the next school year, and with a hundred percent of the resources coming from the municipality, "all children from preschool, elementary and jr.high will have their back pack full of free school supplies", as well as school uniforms for those families who applied for it at the General Directorate of Social Development.

Also, dredging works and flood prevention has been made in colonies that traditionally suffered from this problem, thus protecting the heritage of those who live there, for which 70 million pesos were invested. Work is also being done for the recovery of public spaces for locals, and once the rainy season has concluded, 150 million pesos will be invested for the rehabilitation of roads throughout the municipality. The lights of the city will be repaired and new safety patrols will be acquired.

At the start of the delivery of the construction materials, the mayor was accompanied by the aldermen Óscar Ávalos Bernal, Luis Munguia González, Doris Ponce Aguilar, Humberto Gómez Arévalo and Otoniel Barragán Espinoza, as well as by the head of Social Development, Arturo Dávalos Peña and the neighborhood council representatives of the different colonies benefited in this work day.
