This was informed by the organizers of the event
This would be the third time in a row that the "Halloween" caravan will not be held on the Malecon promenade, 16 years after the distribution of candy every "Halloween", this October 31st , has been cancelled once again, despite the fact that the restrictions due to the coronavirus and the low incidence have been lifted.
According to what was confirmed by the organizer of the "Halloween" caravan, Miguel Angel Yerena Ruiz, doctors suggested not to do it because a rebound of Covid-19 is foreseen for the winter, besides there are also new strains of influenza in circulation and it is advisable not to promote crowds.
Thus, the position of the last two years in which the caravan did not take place is maintained, "I do not want to carry in my conscience that a child could get sick" for going to the malecon in search of candy "at least on my part there will not be any", emphasized Yerena Ruiz.
He recalled that every "Halloween" that became a tradition there were thousands and thousands of people -especially children and teenagers- that congregated at the malecon "sometimes we estimate more than 15 thousand".
He reiterated that this year, which would have been the 16th anniversary of this event, it was cancelled again due to the active pandemic of Covid-19.
Yerena Ruiz exhorted parents and children not to go to the Malecon for Halloween because there will be no candy distribution as was done every year by the Centro de Educación, Deportiva, Cultural y Social, Puerto Vallarta A.C. (CEDECUS).
