Peace Boat's 98th Global Voyage for Peace has depart from Yokohama, Japan on May 8 and will return on August 22, 2018 after visiting as many as 25 ports in 23 countries.

Marking 35 years of history as an organization, this anniversary voyage will pack favourite destinations in the northern hemisphere. Highlights include sailing through the Norwegian Fjords and the Arctic Sea where participants will experience the midnight sun, and visits to New York and Havana next to each other which has become possible only recently. The voyage will also visit Cartagena, Colombia and Puntarenas, Costa Rica, to learn about peace initiatives in each of these countries.

The Voyage will be host to the 2018 "Global Voyage for a Nuclear-Free World: Peace Boat Hibakusha Project", in which a delegation of Hibakusha (survivors of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki) travel onboard Peace Boat to give personal testimony and call for the abolition of nuclear weapons.
