Inventory restructuring of tourist activities and services in Vallarta

The municipal government of Puerto Vallarta is updating the tourist inventory as a starting point to carry out evaluations and establish the necessary priorities in this area for the destination. The Director of Tourism and Economic Development, Ludwig Estrada Virgen, informed that the work is being carried out by personnel of the agency and the objective is to have an integrated registry of all the tourist elements that due to their natural, cultural and human qualities may constitute a resource for tourists, thus representing a valuable instrument for tourist planning. The inventory will make it possible to diagnose the situational state of each resource and subsequently develop improvement strategies that will be attractive to tourists, i.e., niches of opportunity will be detected. "We are including all types of lodging: hotels, timeshares, condominiums, apartments, houses, as well as restaurants, and the rest of the service providers, such as companies that offer tours, the characteristics and location of all the companies in the industry or that serve tourists, in other words, the total offer in all areas".

CULTURE AND NATURE He added that it will also include cultural events and natural spaces that are attractive to visitors. "It will be an extensive work because the inventory had not been updated and it will allow us to make a diagnosis of the destination, as we will also have information on which commercial establishments have closed, those that have opened and those that are in the pipeline." This information will serve as a basis for the development of plans and actions. The tourism inventory is an indispensable tool for motivating public and private investment in this sector, since it is not only a collection of information, but fundamentally a management tool. Of course, it also serves to provide information to tourists who request it, both in the central offices and in the modules of the agency.
