Fishermen are supported with motors and vessels

With an investment superior to 6 million pesos, the Government of the People carries out the Program of Support to the Investment in Equipment and Infrastructure of the Component of Substitution of Ecological Marine Motors 2013, in benefit of the fishermen of the municipalities of Bahía de Banderas, Compostela, El Nayar, Rosamorada, San Blas, Santiago Ixcuintla, Tepic and Tuxpan.

So informed the secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development and Fishing, Emeterio Carlón Acosta, who detailed that this program consists in the delivery of 93 exterior motors, eight minor vessels and GPS navigation systems, with the intention of increasing the income of the families dedicated to this activity.

He pointed out that this support is greatly important for the economic development of this sector, as it contributes to the conservation of the environment and, in consequence, to the preservation of the fishing zones, as the intention is to put damaged and old motors out of circulation, which already pollute too much.

This contribution benefits many families that depend on fishing, as in this way the production and commerce of the marine products is carried out with more efficiency and better results.
