The culture of the opera will be bolstered in the Vallartan public

The season of live opera broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera Company (Met) from New York begins at Teatro Vallarta starting on October 5, with the presentation of Eugene Onegin, of Tchaikovsky.

For this reason, and to invite the Vallartan public to be more interested in this genre, Teatro Vallarta will offer a free lecture entitled "Introduction to Opera" which will be taught by Paco Ojeda, editor of the magazine Vallarta Lifestyles. The conference will last 90 minutes and will be held on the premises of Teatro Vallarta (Uruguay 184, Col. December 5th) on Monday, September 30th at 6 pm in Spanish, and at 7:30 in English.

During the conference, Paco Ojeda will present a concise and readable analysis of how the opera has survived the passage of time through over 400 years of history, highlighting important dates and events.

Using various musical examples as a reference, Ojeda invited the audience to discover the charm of this musical genre. "The opera, like the tequila, has a trick," said the speaker.

"There are several ways to try it. Some are more friendly than others, and can help you enjoy opera as the unique experience it is".

Ojeda will also address the issue of live opera transmissions that Teatro Vallarta will offer during the 2013-2014 season (ten operas in total). In each of the transmissions, the speaker will give a brief introduction to each of the operas to be presented, which include the popular La Bohème by Puccini and Rossini's Cinderella, among others.

"Teatro Vallarta began airing the Saturdays of Met Opera last season," said Ojeda. "It would be wonderful if during the season that is about to begin more people became interested in enjoying a truly unique experience. Unfortunately, many people hear the word 'opera', and immediately imagine that it will be a long and boring show. The reality is different, and I hope to arouse the interest of the public through the conference".
