Happy birthday, America!
Now thank your stars and stripes you are celebrating in some of these places.
Conversely, you may want to shout some expletives as loud as those fireworks if you decided to celebrate the Fourth of July in a few of these other cities rounded up by WalletHub. The website scoured this great land of ours and discovered the best and worst places to celebrate July 4.
If you find yourself in Atlanta, San Francisco, Buffalo, Washington D.C. or San Diego, congratulations are in order. You managed to uncover the nation’s best spots on Independence Day, according to WalletHub’s findings.
The website took into account myriad categories that affect the fun and frivolity you will have on this special summer day. It looked at six crucial dimensions: Fourth of July Celebrations, which includes things like number of festivals and legality of fireworks; Affordability; Attractions & Activities; Safety & Accessibility; and (most importantly?) weather.
It spotted 100 cities nationwide that might attract a sizable crowd on this wonderful day.
Thanks to being relatively affordable and having awesome displays, celebrations and attractions, Atlanta beats out places like the nation’s capital. Madison, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Orlando and Seattle round out the top 10 while big cities like New York and Los Angeles have to settle for No. 13 and No. 14 respectively.
Some of you may be staring at the figurative burnt embers of a nearly extinguished grill. Perhaps you are stuck with one of the Fourth of July also-rans.
You really don’t want to find yourself in New Jersey on July 4, according to this study.
Jersey City and Newark are on the absolute bottom of this list of 100 major cities. It should be noted, however, that they rank as No. 1 and No. 4 according to safety and accessibility, so you will be well cared for and can actually get there on a moment’s notice, which is something, I guess.
As with their other lists, WalletHub likes to toss out some trivia in regards to its study. This particular one offers a glimpse at the lowest average beer and wine prices. In this case, get all the brew and vino you can handle before watching fireworks in Arizona. It has five cities that tie for the top spot.
However, Arizona also houses five of the worst cities as pertains to the holiday weather. So that 12-pack will hardly help you from melting.

Wherever you find yourself, you are in good company. AAA previously predicted that a record number of people would hit the road for this Fourth of July.
It might not be the same as a 15-minute firework display, but WalletHub does help brighten spirits with an Independence Day graphic festooned with facts and figures.
Let this carry you into the rest of the summer, which is just like the Fourth albeit with less traffic and fireworks.
