SPCA Puerto Vallarta isn't exactly a shelter, it's more like a sanctuary....or even a spa. Indoor or outdoor choices, unless the weather is awful, up to the animals. Cats get sun. Cats get vertical space. Dogs and cats live mostly in social groups. Volunteers and staff focus on enriching their lives. Some American facilities can learn from this place.

No-Kill in of itself isn't the only solution - but once animals are here - they will either be adopted or cared for their entire lives. Many are adopted, and mostly to homes in Canada or the U.S.

I realize, of course, there are dogs and cats in America and Canada who require saving....Having said that I don't believe saving lives has borders attached to it. If you can connect with an animal, I don't much care where that dog or cat is from.

Come to Puerto Vallarta and go home with a new best pal - many have done it.
