The governor of the state of Jalisco, Aristóteles Sandoval Díaz stated that the government investment is guaranteed in the Chalacatepec project.

The governor said that the option is a trust with federal participation through the National Bank for Construction.

The Chalacatepec Tourist development, located in the municipality of Tomatlán and which started in the past state administration with funds from the State Pension Institute and private investment, will be continued in the government of Sandoval Diaz but now it will legally guarantee the resources of the pensioners.

The governor explained that this guarantee shall be given by a trust fund in which the federal government is also involved and there will be complete transparency in its management.

Aristóteles Sandoval Díaz said at a press conference he gave in the municipality of Ahualulco de Mercado, that they are looking for alternatives and better conditions to ensure the goods and the benefits there is for the workers and the heritage of the state.

He said that, indeed, "what was always noted was there was a lack of transparency and clarity, ranging from the acquisition of the land itself to the allocation of the resource in the State Pension of the workers".

He explained that now the effort is reoriented "to take advantage of the benefits that may be affected with legal safeguards, with a lot of transparency, a lot of clarity, and above all, that it does not lead us towards a trap in a legal process in which in the short-term we would have no resources".

He said that at this point, the cost of the land acquired by the PAN government to carry out this development has already risen and the proposal is now a trust with Federal participation through Banobras, where there are major worldwide companies involved.

He noted that this will guarantee that the resource is safe, "the appeal will be able to have higher yields, but it should be handled with a lot of transparency, a lot of clarity, and I would ask the manager to give them accurate data, clarify the bet that is being made, and provide the mid and long term budget".

He reiterated that the investment made with money from state pensions would be fully guaranteed.

"It is a trust where there is the participation of the Federal Government and the private sector, and there is even close communication with the Government of Colima to trigger the development of this entire region, because tomorrow we will be able to have profitable and guaranteed resources, so that the worker has the security that his invested resources are there and will be legally shielded".

The governor assured that there is no longer a problem with the ejidatarios, who were initially opposed to this development.

“They have already assembled. There are conditions, for it is a request from the citizens themselves, from around Tomatlán and this region, because this would contribute to generate employment, development, investment, and we will always have to privilege the protection of our natural areas so that they are projects which can be compatible with the development of the area. In that sense the ejido has already come to a verdict and things are starting to work", he said.
