The construction of a new Regional Hospital in Puerto Vallarta, and the extension of the current, could be completed by 2014, said the director of the Eighth Sanitary Jurisdiction, Karina Guillermina Navarro.
In this regard she indicated that Jalisco's Health Secretary said that to make a new one was more viable than the expansion of the current Regional Hospital, but everything is a project and so far there is nothing concrete.
In this regard and given that the hospital's capacity was exceeded long ago and the relatives of patients must wait outside the facilities, Karina Navarro said that it is unfortunate that the relatives of patients of the Regional Hospital are outdoors.
For which she mentioned that for the moment the construction of some roofs on the outside of the Regional Hospital has already been managed, which although they are not a solution, they would help lessen the problem.
At the same time, she said that she recently learned of the existence of the Rotary Club project of creating a shelter that provides care to relatives of patients at the Regional Hospital, however once it is presented, it will be analyzed to determine what might be the support provided by the health sector to this.
And while this issue is important she recognized that the care for patients who come to the Regional Hospital is more important, "we have to work and have doctors and nurses give the most dignified treatment possible, to work with the capacity that we have for the moment", she concluded.
