Dishes with autochthonous and original flavors decorated the culinary exposition of high school students of sixth semester, held at the premises of the University of the Valle de Atemajac, Campus Puerto Vallarta.
The teacher Luis Ignacio Zúñiga Bobadilla, general director of Univa-PV congratulated all of the participants of this magnificent culinary sample. The general director mentioned that these type of academic exercises go beyond the classroom, leading them to obtain professional experience which besides being in the field of competition, allows them to put into practice what they learn in the classroom, where they acquire confidence and create knowledge, which is an important aspect of the interactive pedagogical model.
Gastronomy, Mexican patrimony
The sample was a complete success, as expressed by the special guests, household parents and administrative and support personnel of the House of Studies. In this sense the teacher María Esther Zúñiga, coordinator and responsible of the subject Touristic Patrimony of Mexico, said that the participating group, Sixth Semester has distinguished itself for its dedication and being in charge of all the logistical aspects, which range from buying inputs to the preparation of meals, some of them with ingredients brought from their place of origin.
Lastly it was mentioned that they were gastronomic samples from the representative dish of each state of the country. Two hundred members of the university community were invited, including teaching and administrative personnel, special guests and students. The work of high schools was always in teams. The formal colouring of the presentations gave life to the almost 80 meters of exposition in which they invested a little more than five thousand pesos. The time required for planning was several weeks, with hundreds of hours dedicated to collect ingredients and finally, their preparation and transport. It is worth noting that everything was made by young enthusiasts from high school under the supervision of the teacher Zúñiga.
