2015 San Pancho Music Festival

The 15th Annual San Pancho Music Festival will take place on Friday, Feb. 27th through Sunday, March 1st, 2015 in San Francisco, Nayarit, Mexico. As in past years, the event takes place on the last weekend of February. And, as always, we very much appreciate donations from those that attend the Music Festival!

This year San Pancho is celebrating its 15th year as host of the Music Festival. The Festival has evolved markedly from its original beginnings in the backyard of a local resident in 2001. With it’s growing success the Music Festival has gained a reputation for featuring new and exciting performing artists from the Nayarit region, as well as musicians from the United States, Canada, and Latin America. The celebration of music begins at 5pm each day, with performances up until 11pm each night. A schedule of performing artists and show times will soon be published on this website as details are worked out. Please revisit this site for more details on the performances and scheduled times. As in recent years the Music Festival will be held in San Pancho’s Plaza del Sol – across from the church. In early 2012 Plaza del Sol was remodeled and its facilities updated. A new and larger stage was completed to enhance the Plaza as an entertainment venue. Public restrooms were modernized, the portico was remodeled, and new landscape installed. The Plaza is much better suited for the larger crowds that are now attending the annual event.

And something new: To commemorate the 15th anniversary this year, the festival is adding a second, “Legacy Stage” where groups that have had a long history with the festival will perform, and reminisce about the festival, providing uninterrupted entertainment each evening. The result will be a greater diversity of musical entertainment for the audience…rewarding those in attendance with an enhanced listening experience throughout the 3-day event.

Seating at the Music Festival is sometimes limited, so we encourage the public to bring their own chairs. And don’t forget: the local restaurants and vendors will provide the public a good selection of beverages and food during the Festival.

01/23/15 – Luna Rumba has been added to the schedule for the Music Festival’s 15th Anniversary . Confirmed for Friday night, the world music act “Luna Rumba” is returning after a stellar performance in 2013. Their CD was awarded “Best Latin Music CD” of 2013 by the Independent Music Awards.

02/07/15 - The Music Festival is pleased to announce the return of Jeff Oster to this year’s 15th Anniversary celebration! Jeff has been an active supporter of the Festival for several years, and we are fortunate that Jeff is able to break from his busy schedule in the US to join us once again. As so many have from his past performances, you will love his music!
