Princesas Desesperadas, the smash play of the season (in Spanish) about four Disney princesses’ journey to “happily ever after,” is switching venues from The Boutique Theatre to The Palm Cabaret and Bar. Upcoming performances will take place at The Palm June 20, 21, 27, 28 and July 4 and 5 at 8:30 PM.
Written by Mexican playwright Tomás Urtusástegui, the comedy follows four Disney princesses a decade after they begin their new lives at the end of the stories we know. Usually performed by four female actors, the local production—by Perro Bravo, a new theatrical production company in Puerto Vallarta—features four male leads, adding an additional level of hilarity to the play. And although the play is performed in Spanish, local English speaking folk with basic Spanish skills have thoroughly enjoyed the production as well. “We are delighted that Perro Bravo chose to consider The Palm for Princesas,” commented Tracy Parks, who oversees talent at the venue. The show is hysterical and very well conceived, and the attention to detail, costumes and acting is incredible.”
Princesas Desesperadas began a successful run at The Boutique Theatre in April, with sold out performances night after night. Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Boutique Theatre is relocating to a yet-to-be-determined location.
Tickets for Princesas Desesperadas are $80 pesos per person. For more information, please visit The Palm Cabaret and Bar’s website. If you'd like to reserve tickets in advance, please dial (322) 294-3096.
