showcaseOn February 18, the 19th Thierry Blouet Trophy took place in the luxurious restaurant Café des Artistes; as it is tradition, renowned hotel chefs competed this 2014, such as: Vidanta Group, Villa Premiere, Haramara Retreat, Four Seasons Punta Mita, Hotel San Bernardo, and Coco Tropical Restaurant.

The jury consisted of great personalities of gastronomy: Roland Menetrey, Gerard Dupont, Héctor Zavala, Mickael Fournier, Emmanuelle Desboise, Guillermo López, Ulf Henriksson, Graciela Ontiveros y Alfredo Pérez, who was the winner of the 8th edition; of course Chef Thierry Blouet was present.

The participating chefs prepared 2 meals, on one side, the main dish with the Magret and Duck Foie Gras theme, and on the other, a dessert with the theme of Three Chocolate Dipped Macaroon, which were evaluated by the experts in the matter and at the end of the day, during the gala dinner, each participating Chef received an acknowledgement for their participation and the first places received gifts on behalf of the sponsors.

As all good contests, it ended in an award ceremony, and Café des Artistes, THE BEST RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD TO CELEBRATE THE OCCASION, showed off with a spectacular Gala Dinner for the award ceremony. The first place, Chef Martin Flores Verduzco of the Four Seasons Punta Mita Hotel, received the statue for Commemorative IX Thierry Blouet Jalisco – Nayarit 2014 from Chef Thierry Blouet and the Academie Culinaire de France medal from Gerard Dupont, President of the aforementioned; the second place, Miguel Molinero of Vidanta Group, as it is now custom, received the Medal Vallarta Opina from Lic. Reyes Brambila, General Director of Editorial Group Vallarta Opina.

The night was full of excitement, from the participating chefs and of all the attending guests, who delighted in a sophisticated menu, designed by Chef Thierry Blouet for this special event.
