With the motto 60 Years in the Way to Equality, the National Action Party of Banderas Bay, celebrated the 60th Anniversary of Women's Vote in Mexico. The Secretary of Political Promotion of the Woman of the CEN of the PAN, Guadalupe Suárez Ponce, headed the meeting sustained with women of Banderas Bay in a known hotel of Nuevo Vallarta accompanied by the federal deputy, Blanca Oziel and the state president of the PAN of Nayarit, Ramón Camberos, as well as of the municipal leader, Arturo Cuevas, and the councillor, Milton Martínez. She pointed out that it is another action of the more than 60 actions for the 60 years in the way to equality "we celebrate these 60 years that have not been easy to attain a balance between men and women, not only in politics, but in the economy, where we keep searching for the same opportunities" she indicated.
Today in the PAN, stressed the national leader, we have double the amount of senators from 6 years ago "we have 37 percent of women in Congress, this puts us to the top level in Latin America for the majority of women in a Congress, but this was thanks to a sentence given by the Court and we have to reinforce this work. We, the women of National Action, say not a step back in what has been achieved", so she previously indicated in an interview at the beginning of the meeting with women party members and sympathizers of Banderas Bay.
Around the statement that she made at a national level, Josefina Vázquez Mota, in the sense that now the PAN was as corrupt as the PRI for which the values of National Action had to be rescued, the national leader of the political promotion of women, emphasized with a fiery index finger that "there are some characters that are wanting to corrupt the party members with money or that are trying to do dishonest things, it is necessary to judge them and have them leave. Today the women are half of the voters and we are not going to allow corruption in the party", she pointed out after adding that if the members of National Action or of the citizenship have proofs of corruption it is necessary that they report the facts to remove them from the party, and if they are already in the government, to take them to prison.
It corresponded to Emigdia Jiménez, better known as Miyo in Jarretaderas, to welcome the women assistants. For his part, the councillor, Milton Martínez, said to the women that with his participation in politics the equality was becoming a reality, which opens a way for more opportunities for the Mexican women "this confidence that is well earned, represents new responsibilities and the possibility of building new initiatives for a more democratic and just municipality with your participation" he said.
For his part, Arturo Cuevas, president of the local office of the PAN in Banderas Bay, in his message reflected on the right to vote and be voted, as well as on the right to choose and be chosen, in this sense he said that "there is no more powerful tool to change a country, a state or a municipality than the power of the suffrage. If a community decides to participate with its vote, it will choose the government which contributes with the best results.
Sixty years ago the law awarded the women the right to vote, there needs to be a deserved recognition for those who attained it and a deserved estrangement for those who avoided it for many years, because the women's vote was not a graceful grant from the state, but it was the result of a long and arduous fight of some men and of a lot of women, since, thanks to women, our country is different and it is different because women reason their vote thinking in their family, because women are much more difficult to corrupt and because women know to correspond; if women are pleased they support and if they are ignored they reject.
Now we move together to get a greater percentage of women in charge of popular election seats and designations" he sentenced. Finally, Ramón Camberos, recognized the fight of women for attaining their voting rights, in this sense, he remembered that a few weeks ago, the Local Congress approved the party obligation to posit a minimum of 40 percent from each gender, however, he said, the longing is that tomorrow there is no need to establish these types of mechanisms for the parties. Among others comments, the state leader, stressed the importance of the work of the women in the political field of the PAN.
