A Vallarta-born dancer returns as a successful producer of Contemporary Dance.

Eleno Guzmán Gutiérrez, a successful dancer, international cultural manager, scenic producer, artistic director, promoter, and curator, is back in Puerto Vallarta with an impressive piece, "Traces" by Wim Vandekeybus.

The innate talent of Vallarta's locals can reach international levels, and Eleno proves it by returning home at the height of his professional career as an International Producer and Artistic Director.

"Traces," the last virgin forest by Wim Vandekeybus, is the result of decades of scenic dance exploration, where the choreographer has been able to synthesize his learning and develop a physical language that brings him into the realm of first-world dance. In the 1980s, Belgium witnessed a wave of choreographers who would set the tone for the contemporary European scene at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st. Wim Vandekeybus belongs to that generation, which brought about several ruptures in the conception of dance and influenced dance worldwide with their unique perspective on the body and intense exploration of its physical capacities.

During a several-month stay in Madrid in the late 1980s, the group "Ultima vez" was formed, consisting of young dancers, actors, and performers, with whom Wim Vandekeybus began his own journey as a stage artist. While his work primarily developed in the field of dance, he also showed interest in film and video, which were not marginal practices but equally relevant to choreography. They allowed him to continue exploring the possibilities of movement in different media and, in turn, question the human condition.

The encounter between Eleno and Wim was marked by a shared appreciation for theatricality in dance works and the scenic impact that Wim brings to each of his productions. This undoubtedly caught Eleno's attention while he was touring Europe with Alicia Sánchez's group. From there, he made it his mission to find Wim and collaborate with "Ultima Vez," an incredibly hardworking group that will come to Puerto Vallarta with their piece "Traces."

"Traces" will be presented on August 2nd at 8 pm at Teatro Vallarta. Tickets are available at the box office with the following prices:
