During School year 2015-2016, 19,613 students enrolled in fifth grade of Primary in Nayarit’s Public Schools, will be getting a tablet as part of the “Digital Inclusion and literacy” program; a program run by the Department of Public Education with the purpose of obtaining social and educational fairness by incorporating the digital culture in our last primary years of our students’ education.
This program was originally for the States of Mexico, Puebla, Sonora and Tabasco, also for the Federal District. These were the only states that were going to benefit; but Nayarit was included after the recent visit of the Secretary of Public Education, Emilio Chuayfett Chemor, to Nayarit; it was during his visit that he announced that Nayarit was going to be another of the States receiving this benefit.
The tablet will be given, free of charge, to all fifth graders in the public School System, for their personal and family use, so as to improve their learning conditions, reduce the digital breach, as well as to reinforce and bring up to date school instructors’ teaching techniques.
17,732 primary students from Federal Schools, 167 from the Board of the Ministry of Public Education and 1,714 from the State Educational System, which makes a total of 19,613 students, who will be receiving the electronic tablets next school year.
