An earthquake of 6.1 degrees was recorded in Guerrero, southern Mexico, at 03:20 hours (local), authorities said Thursday.

The National Seismological Servicico reported that the quake was east of Ciudad Altamirano, Guerrero, and had a depth of 40 kilometers.
