amuelledelosmuertosCompanies and residents of the so called Zona Romantica,

the Romantic Zone, express their thankfulness to acknowledge the support given by
the Governor and the Secretary of Tourism of the Jalisco state, aswell as the Vallarta municipality.

Led by Enrique Carothers Barreto, the area’s businesspeople and residents pronounced their appreciation and gratitude for the remodeling of the area, most especially, for the construction of the new Muelle de Los Muertos, as well as for the work realized in the town center.

The general public, in turn, was invited to the activities planned for the afternoon and evening of January 4th (today) at the opening of the
new pier. The city’s director of tourism mentioned that the whole community is supposed to participate, especially the residents of the
Zona Romantica, in the celebration of the city’s new tourist attraction.

He said the new pier is an architectural work of great beauty and functionality, with an aesthetically very attractive line that does
not let it lose the essence of what it is: a pier that enables the visitor to appreciate new views of the bay and its cityscape as well
as a boarding point for small boats touring the Banderas Bay.

The inaugural show began at 5:30 pm with the presence of a group of skydivers: several paratroopers landed in the Playa de Los Muertos
clothed in flags of different colors. Subsequently the formal inauguration protocol will be read out. The ballet Xiutla, as a symbol
of local popular culture will participate in the event and then a jazz band will liven up a party that will end with the release of
fireworks. The event is free of charge and open to the public.

The municipal tourism holder clarified that they are now working on the regulation for how the new pier should be used. This regulation
supposed to be in the form of a written document which clearly outlines the pier’s intended and allowed activities.

He said that a “symbolic charge” for boats boarding the pier is expected for the maintenance, and stressed that it is very important
to have a regulation and resources available to ensure the continued maintenance of the pier, so it will not be neglected because of a lack
of funds.

The Muelle de Los Muertos was realized at a cost of nearly 80 million pesos (about 6.3 million USD or 4.8 million EUR), mainly financed by
public funds. The construction period was more than 18 months, with a series of delays and periods in which works were not performed due to
lack of resources.

However, its inauguration date has finally come.
