The Triqui Boys Will go to The “Niños Héroes” Gym

This Friday, starting at five in the afternoon, in the facilities of the “Niños Héroes” State Gym of the Paseo de La Loma, in Tepic, three basketball teams of triqui boys will show up. These teams have worldwide recognition for their effort in the court and for representing Mexico in competitions of international character.

This news was made known in a press conference by the head of the Nayaritan Institute of Physical Culture and Sport, David Aguilar Estrada, as well as by the president of the Association of Basketball in Nayarit, Arturo Pacheco Benítez, and by Enrique Alejandro Zúñiga Castro, who was the link for the realization of this activity.

“It is an important visit; it is a group of sportsmen that is standing out at an international level for its characteristics, for its origins, and is an example of getting things done. Their trainer has encouraged them to come out from their natural surroundings, which is the southern zone of Oaxaca, and these boys, who have an age of in between 9 and 12 years, stood out by giving an example to the Mexican children and youths”, commented Aguilar Estrada.

For his part, Zúñiga Castro said that the players will have a kind of interaction with the people who assist the exhibition games; “the entrance will be free, thanks to the Government of the People, headed by Roberto Sandoval Castañeda; those who assist will receive a surprise from the triqui boys, besides being able to be and even play with them prior to the official matches”.

The three teams of triqui boys that will be in Nayarit will measure themselves against combined Nayaritans of the same age group of the municipalities of Tepic, Ruiz, Xalisco and Acaponeta, among others. The next day, they will travel to Banderas Bay to present themselves in the Sports Unit of San José and measure themselves against teams of the southern coast, he informed.

Finally, he thanked Roberto Sandoval Castañeda and the Government of the People for supporting this type of show, "I think that the visit of the Triqui children will continue feeding what has been done in terms of basketball in Nayarit. There is a substantial change regarding the mentality of the player, the fan, and even of the media. Now the basketball of our country is another, thanks to players like the Nayaritan Gustavo Ayón and these boys who, definitely, will leave us with a great teaching”, finalized Zúñiga Castro.
