If you have not been to Magic Market yet, you should come check it out.
Since it began four weeks ago, each week has gotten bigger and better. This week over 120 vendors are scheduled to be there, bringing you a smorgasbord of different types of foods, beverages, and desserts, and a gallery of varied art and artisanal products. This all thanks to Puerto Magico, Puerto Vallarta’s new cruise ship terminal, for lending its’ ample space.
Entertainment this week will include Circo Sem Rumo, a one-man act of acrobatic tricks with an oversized plastic ring. You’ll be amazed by how he clings to the inside of the ring while totally controlling its rolling movement by shifting his weight around. Mimo Ray will returns with his mime show to bring smiles to your faces. And the band Gecko will be performing rock and pop songs you can sing along to.
There will be two featured artists this week sharing instruction lessons on the techniques they use to create their art. For a nominal materials fee, you can join in and experience hands-on learning from authentic local artists. Paisaje Biocultural presents Joyeria en Ocachal by artisans from Mascota. Ocochal is a type of pine tree that grows at higher elevations, and is used to make beautiful baskets, vessels, trivets, trays, and even jewelry. Lolarte Mexico will be demonstrating how to make and decorate figures with modeling dough.
This week Mad Hatter Shane Walker will be drawing a name to win a hand-painted fedora hat specially created just for the event. And Magic Market will be hosting a new program to benefit local charities. From its inception, Magic Market has been all about promoting the support of our local PV community and its people. Each week a local social or environmental charity organization will be featured, inviting you to help out your fellow citizens, critters, and habitats. This week you and your family can play corn hole to benefit Campamento Tortuguero from Boca de Tomates, and maybe save a few baby turtles. Their organization keeps sea turtle eggs safe during embryo development, and once hatched keeps baby turtles safe during their journey from beaches to ocean.
And let’s not forget Magic Market’s fabulous food and authentic art. You have to come hungry to this event, as there are so many different food, sweets, and beverage options. There is even a full bar right across from Cacao Magico. Art ranges from small, inexpensive items to fine art fit for a museum. Please support these local artists, you can always find an empty spot in your home or someone’s birthday that you need an amazing gift for. Plus there are lots of health, beauty, and bath products that make great gifts, too. The fun starts Friday at 5:00 at Magic Market and Festival, located at the Puerto Magico cruise ship terminal. Parking, admission, and entertainment are free, come and enjoy!! See you there!!.
