Distributes Backpacks, Shoes, and School Kits to Students at a Primary School in Puerto Vallarta

On August 9th, 2024, at 9 AM, the International María Luisa de Moreno Foundation, through its “Help Us Help” program, distributed 250 new school kits to students of the Manuel López Cotilla Primary School in the Mismaloya community of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

The International María Luisa de Moreno Foundation is a non-profit organization recognized for its humanitarian work in various parts of the world. Its mission focuses on the holistic development of individuals, promoting education, health, and social inclusion for the most vulnerable communities. Since its founding, the foundation has positively impacted the lives of thousands, providing support to those in need and creating opportunities to improve their quality of life.

In Puerto Vallarta, the foundation has had a significant presence over the years, conducting various activities aimed at the well-being of the community. One of its most recent and notable actions was the distribution of school kits at the primary school in Mismaloya, a gesture that reflects its commitment to education and the future of children in this region. The distribution included backpacks and shoes, essential items for students to attend school in the best conditions. Present at the event were the Regional Coordinator of Jalisco, Susana Rodríguez Porras, and David Lizarazo Castañeda, the National Management Director of the Foundation. Committed to helping those who need it most, the foundation has already distributed 8,000 kits nationwide.

The event in Mismaloya was not only an act of generosity but also a reminder of the importance of education as a tool for progress. By providing these kits, the foundation is directly contributing to the students’ ability to stay in school, easing the financial burden on families, and motivating children to continue their academic education. Companies like Costco, Club Regina, and Hotel Tropicana participated in this effort. Forty-five libraries have been built, with plans to establish one in Puerto Vallarta.

The International María Luisa de Moreno Foundation doesn’t just provide materials; it also conducts training programs for teachers, parents, and students to strengthen the overall educational environment. These initiatives provide the educational community in Mismaloya with more resources and knowledge to tackle day-to-day challenges.

Another important aspect of the foundation’s work is its focus on the health and well-being of students. In many cases, the foundation organizes health fairs at schools, where medical check-ups are conducted, and advice is given on leading a healthy lifestyle. This comprehensive approach ensures that children not only receive a good education but also grow up in an environment that promotes their physical and emotional development.

The distribution of backpacks and shoes in Mismaloya is just one example of the numerous activities the foundation carries out in Puerto Vallarta and other regions. Its impact goes beyond the material, as its work fosters values such as solidarity, respect, and cooperation among community members.

Additionally, the foundation is known for its inclusive approach, working with people of all ages and conditions, including those with disabilities. This is reflected in its programs designed to promote equal opportunities and active participation for all in society.

The work of the International María Luisa de Moreno Foundation in Mismaloya is an inspiring example of how an organization can make a difference in people’s lives. Its commitment to the education and well-being of students demonstrates its dedication to building a better future for everyone.

The distribution of school kits in Mismaloya is just one of the many activities the International María Luisa de Moreno Foundation undertakes to support the most vulnerable communities. Through its constant and dedicated work, this foundation continues to be a pillar of hope and social transformation in Puerto Vallarta and beyond.

On August 23rd, at the “Papalote Children’s Museum” in Mexico City, the foundation will hold its largest event, where over 3,000 school kits will be distributed. Children from the State of Mexico and Mexico City, who are in vulnerable situations, will gather, and for many, receiving these kits will determine whether they can continue attending school.
