As part of the State strategy against obesity, overweight and diabetes, the Government of the people, through the Ministry of health of the State, accredited and ratified at the National Institute of statistics and geography (inegi) as building healthy, as well as give other accreditation as dengue-free building.
To achieve this accreditation and ratification, both executives and personnel of the Institute have worked three years on issues such as overweight and obesity, review of chlorinated and wastewater, healthy eating, diabetes and other diseases, with constant training on these issues.
Actions of this strategy, in addition to the Elimination of drinks sweetened within the premises of the Institute, what makes this building in one of the first nationally certified as healthy.
"With these actions, nayarit has become precursor of these measures, promoting already in the building – both public and private - the Elimination of junk food, especially sugary drinks that both affect health, which seek to prevent obesity, overweight and, especially, diabetes in our population", said the Secretary of health, oscar Villaseñor anguiano.
He added that currently are 48 buildings certified statewide and highlighted the participation, for several years, INEGI, what has become example among the units of federal, State and municipal, because it has shown that it can work on preventive matters within the institutions.
