Puerto Vallarta, Jal.-Great expectations caused the realization of 5 Race For Children's Health, “Niños corriendo por niños”, with the aim of promoting physical activation, sport and healthy habits for the benefit of the Municipal hostel for boys Vida Nueva, CANICA Association which supports the treatment of children with cancer and the Association Dives in Misericordia of Ixtapa.

Under the coordination of the Board of Trustees of the hostel, the municipality of Puerto Vallarta and the participation of important companies.


Taking part categories: 4 to 6, 7 to 9, 10 to 12 and 13 to 15 years girls and boys by the program “Moviendo a tu familia”, the director of Social development, Arturo Dávalos Peña, was commissioned to give exit to the runners on behalf of the municipal President Ramon Guerrero Martinez. Taking care of the order and safety of the participants, therefore, children ran on the athletics track, while elders did on the Avenue, during the recreational pathway. 

Parents, coaches and teachers from different schools and the community in general, enjoyed the enthusiasm and excitement that was experienced in each competition, where children and young people did their best to win a medal, in the case of second and third places; with a trophy for the first places, in addition to great prizes as tablets Xbox, bicycles, skateboards, as well as vouchers redeemable for tennis and gifts

The awards were presented by Arturo Dávalos Peña on behalf of the municipal Government of Puerto Vallarta; Francisco Pérez, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Vida Nueva hostel and all its Committee; Caty Garber, President of the race; Celina Lomelí on behalf of the Deputy Rafael González Reséndiz, as well as by the representatives of the various companies who donated these gifts for the winners.

"Everything was excellent. They took care of many details and safety for our children. We are very happy because this encourages our children to be competitive and also solidarity with other small and fewer favourable situations," said Mrs. Yesenia Méndez, mother of Juan Carlos and Lizeth 10 and 7 years old.

In the end, they thanked all parents for promoting and supporting the children of the Alas de Águila Foundation, the boys scouts of Puerto Vallarta, and the staff of Rotary Kids, who supported in logistics in conjunction with DIF systems
