Raúl Rodrigo Pérez Hernández Minister of tourism of the State of Nayarit, commenced such an important conference and commented "we are very happy today announcing this Polo Cup which we will have in Riviera Nayarit, a quality international event, that puts us before the eyes of the whole world and positions us as the most important luxury destination of the country, and lets us compete against the main destinations of the world.

He pointed out that in the Riviera Nayarit there is the best cuisine and the best biodiversity where there is the jungle, mountains, rivers, the best beaches, animal life and the best Hotel infrastructure, besides two marinas of which one of them is the most modern in Latin America, 6 golf courses, a Polo field and also the richness of its people, likewise he made an important mention of the Hard Rock Hotel which constantly provides a lot of support with its events in the promotion of the touristic destination to the State of Nayarit.

He thanked the support of José Antonio Amutio Director and Producer of the Event, for putting on events of international importance, and invited all of the people who wish to make national and international events in the Riviera Nayarit to do so.

And he added "we are going to receive the main icons of Polo of the continent and of the world, as well as international media.

We will continue adding figures, important to the tourism of Nayarit", he commented that with this type of events, the campaign where Vallarta-Nayarit received 10 million pesos and together with the OVC represented by Marc Murphy, useing these funds across mutliple events, we are attracting 700,000 more tourists a year.

“Each tourist that comes leaves an economic surplus, and that is what is important, that the resources stay in the State and that tourism is able to be a factor of development for Nayarit.”

Marc Murphy on his behalf, commented that the objective is to let the good things that are in the State of Nayarit be known, in particular the Riviera Nayarit by means of events like PREMIUM TOURISM and the idea of positioning the Riviera Nayarit as one of the most important luxury destinations of the world.

For his part, David Palomera Director of Tourism of Bahía de Banderas mentioned the importance of the economic trickle, a very important trickle that comes from tourism.

Manuel Rubio Commercial Director of the Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta thanked the support that has been given to the brand, to the destination and to the polo tournament, and he said that despite being a luxury destination and a great development area, there has been respect for the nature, the culture and the natural look of the place.

Octavio Mungia Sports Director of the Event, described the event with four words: Glamour, Rock, beach Polo and family. The polo is a family event, we are going to have activities for the families who bring their little kids.

There is going to be a specific area, secure for them, so that nobody misses this wonderful show, the entrance is free for the public.

The format of the games will consist of six teams, with players from Argentina, who play in the whole world including Dubai and England; they are players with a 6 to 10 handicap and which form part of the players of Guadalajara, Mexico and Canada. Two Canadians will form a team with an Argentinean and one Argentinean will form a team with two Mexicans.

We will have the presence of Argentinean players, such as Ignacio Novillo Astrada (9 goals) Valerio Zubiarre (7 goals) Pablo Llorente (6 goals) president of the Association of Polo Players of Argentina.

Satiago Solari (6 goals) Eduardo Zorrilla (6 goals) and Manuel Artagaveytia (7 goals) all of them in the sports medium.

There will be activities such as a runway or fashion show, yacht excursions, award ceremonies, etc. We will have the visit of Ferrari Masserati car owners who will come to the event.

The event will take place the days of 5, 6 and 7 of July and it is hoped that more than 500 people a day will come. Very important celebrities of Polo will accompany us, as well as people from enterprises, politics and players of international stature.
