serenatafrontA romantic getaway can be the perfect opportunity to enhance your relationship and strengthen the bond between the two of you.

Here are a few things you can do on your vacation in Mexico to rev up the romance.

1.- Enjoy a Serenade

The serenade is a tradition that is alive and well in Mexico. What could be more romantic than gazing into the eyes of your beloved as you listen to a romantic song that is being played just for the two of you? Some songs you might want to request for your romantic interlude: Si Nos Dejan, Amor Eterno, and Serenata Huasteca.

2.- Walk Hand in Hand

If you're visiting one of Mexico's popular beach destinations, you can take a walk along the beach or the malecon. If you're in a colonial city, head to the Zocalo or cobblestone streets about town. Whatever picturesque spot you choose to stroll in, take your sweetie's hand and enjoy the scenery together.

3.- Go on an Adventure

Getting out of your day to day roles and enjoying activities you don't usually do is part of the fun of a vacation, and an adrenaline rush may make you feel more loving afterwards, so seek out some adventurous activities together. Rush through the jungle on a zip line, ride some white water rapids, or give stand-up paddle boarding a try. Choose an activity that's a bit outside of your comfort zone, something that will challenge and excite you.

4.- Get a Couples Spa Treatment

Many of Mexico's hotel spas have couples treatment rooms so you can enjoy a massage or other spa treatment simultaneously with your partner. Some hotels may even be able to accommodate requests for in-room couples massage. According to Anitra Brown, About.com'sde to Spas: "Couples massage is a great way to introduce a partner who has never gotten a massage before in a way that makes them feel more comfortable the first time."

5.- Take a Soak

A long soak in the Jacuzzi or extra large bathtub can be a great way to unwind and let the sparks fly. As you relax in the bubbles, contemplating the view with a glass of champagne in your hand, you'll find that relaxation, intimacy and romance come easily. You could also select a resort that offers a private plunge pool.

6.- Relax in a Hammock for Two

If you're not used to it, getting into a hammock can be challenging, even if you're by yourself. Add another person to the equation and it can get just plain silly. Consider this part of the fun. Try to get comfortable so that you can relax and swing gently back and forth for awhile.

7.- See the Sunset

There's something special about watching the colors of the sky change. It's a magical show that is put on every evening, but we're usually too busy to take notice. Take the time on your vacation to slow down and enjoy this special time of day.

8.- Have Dinner by Candlelight

Just the candlelight will suffice, but you'll get extra points if you can find a spot that has a perfect view of the ocean, and the sound of waves while you're dining.

9.- Order Room Service

It's nice to dress up and go out for a nice dinner, but for breakfast, you might choose to stay in your room and order room service. That way you can enjoy a relaxing morning (or all day!) in your hotel room.

10.- Hang the Do Not Disturb Sign

The best part of a romantic vacation is spending uninterrupted time alone together. Make sure your itinerary isn't so full that you don't have time to spend together just being intimate. Make time to hang out the do not disturb sign, turn off all your electronic devices, and enjoy one another.
