November 21st marked the beginning of a range of events that make up the Viva Puerto Vallarta festival, organized by the Secretary of Tourism, the Trust for Tourism of Puerto Vallarta (FIDETUR), the Department of Municipal Tourism and the Cultural Institute.

Every two weeks, or every second Wednesday (until the month of March) various shows will take place in the Lazaro Cardenas plaza from 7:00 to 11:00pm in the city center; entrance is completely free. The celebration’s bi-weekly shows are scheduled for the following dates:
 

December 5th and 19th
January 2nd, 16th and 30th
February 13th and 27th
March 13th and 27th

The festival features cuisine in 16 different restaurants, live music, fair games, cultural exhibits such as an exposition of prints by Frida Kahlo, organized by Adriana Quinto and the Xiutla Ballet, directed by Enrique Barrios.
