Boxing in Puerto Vallarta: A growing legacy

Boxing came to Puerto Vallarta with the influence of sailors and port workers who, in the first half of the 20th century, brought with them a taste for this sport. In the beginning, fights were held informally in neighborhood courts and improvised gymnasium courtyards, where young enthusiasts demonstrated their talent in the hope of making their way in boxing.

Over time, the growth of the city allowed the opening of specialized gyms and the organization of local tournaments that attracted the attention of trainers and promoters. In recent years, Puerto Vallarta has hosted important professional and amateur boxing events, consolidating itself as a key point for the development of this discipline in the region.

An event that promotes local sport

The holding of #OneRound to win seeks to strengthen this tradition, offering young people from Vallarta the opportunity to compete and demonstrate their potential. The presence of organizations such as the WKC and WBC raises the relevance of the event, ensuring that it is carried out with high standards of quality and safety.

In addition, this event is part of a broader strategy to promote physical activity and sport in all disciplines, encouraging the participation of children, young people and adults in spaces suitable for sports development.

Puerto Vallarta continues to support boxing as a discipline with great impact on the community, and this event is just one example of the commitment to local talent. Are you ready to step into the ring?
