It Was Not A Normal Fight Between Supporters, Says Alfaro

According to the governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, what happened last Saturday at La Corregidora stadium during the Querétaro vs. Atlas game was not a "normal" fight between fans, what happened there is something different and that is why the Querétaro authorities are obliged to investigate to clarify what happened. According to the testimonies of Atlético fans that it was an ambush, the governor said: "What we believe is that there does have to be an investigation that does not find easy ways out, because what we saw does give the impression that there may be other things behind it and I believe that in that sense the government of Queretaro and the corresponding authorities have a great task ahead of them," said the governor. He pointed out that he does not want to add to the speculation by pointing out who or what interests could be behind this violent event, but he affirmed that he is convinced that what happened on Saturday is much more than a fight between supporters.

"But I am also convinced that if we generate an environment of speculation, of pointing out without foundations, without evidence, we would all be making a mistake, that is why I will wait for the government of Querétaro to investigate," he said. He pointed out that in a high risk game in Jalisco more than 1,100 security elements participate and wondered how many intervened in Querétaro. For his part, the coordinator of the state Security Cabinet, Ricardo Sánchez Beruben, indicated that since Sunday a team from the Emergency Medical Attention System established contact with the families of the hospitalized persons and since this morning began to schedule the transfer of the patients to Jalisco.
