President Calderon said that the investments made by his administration in tourism are to reach the goal that Mexico is consolidated in this decade as the fifth most important tourist destination in the world.
He noted that the Tourism Tianguis consolidates as a business platform. This edition already exceeds last year in Acapulco, as it registered more visitors and 30 attending countries,

The State Chief Executive highlighted the value of the tourism industry as a creator of jobs.

Calderon is expected that an economic income of 140 million pesos has been made trough this Tianguis turistico, "which is significantly higher than last year, which means the Tianguis is what we always wanted it to be, the prime forum for tourism of our country. "
He emphasized that his Government maintained its position of making tourism a strategic sector to increase employment, and have invested so far in his administration more than 30 billion pesos, to create the infrastructure for tourism.

In her speech, the federal Secretariat of Tourism, Gloria Guevara Manzo, highlighted the achievements so far recorded in the Tourism Tianguis, more than 22 000 business Appointments, 40 percent more to those reported in Acapulco 2011, in addition that there are 50 percent more buyers.

Calderon acknowledged the support of the Governors from Jalisco and Nayarit for their commitment in the matter of tourism.

Upon completion of the formal event, President Felipe Calderón inaugurated the Tourism Tianguis pavilion where he began his tour at the booth of Jalisco, in which denotes innovation and technology, culture and ecotourism. During the tour a seahorse sculpture made by a famous mexican artist Rafael Zamarripa, was given to Calderon by hands of the President of the tourism found in Puerto Vallarta, Miguel Andres Hernandez, representing the local tourism industry.
