The "False Guacamole" story, this recipe emerged during an avocado crisis in México about 4 or 5 years ago.
In those days a single avocado cost between $30- $35 pesos (about $1.5 usd), and there were even jokes and memes on social media about how expensive it was to make guacamole. Although for many it was something funny, for the country's taqueros it was not because the cost to make guacamole to our tacos was expensive. Then some creative taqueros made "fake guacamole" sauce, and of course the recipe was spread all around the taqueros of the country.
The sauce turned out to be very similar to guacamole in taste and appearance, so many of us at the time didn't know how to distinguish it from the original. However some traitorous taquero filtered the recipe on the internet a couple years ago and our heart was broken, but with time we get over it. Now the salsa is very popular and we all like it, and probably one or another naive still thinks that it is guacamole.
So today you will learn to make the "fake guacamole" that is delicious!
What do you need?
- 1/4 cup Coriander
- 120 gr Zucchini
- 180 gr green small tomatoes
- 2 cloves of garlic
- half a spoon of salt (salt to taste)
- 2 tablespoons of oil.
- 2 raw jalapeños.
So How to make it?
Cut the zucchini into small pieces, and the green tomatoes in half. Then in a pot with a liter of boiling water, add the zucchini and green tomato and let them boil for 5 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and take out the zucchini and the green tomato and let them rest. Then heat a pan with the 2 tablespoons of oil and fry the 2 jalapeños. After the jalapeño cools, blend all the ingredients together in the blender with the oil which you fried the jalapeños. Do not add any other liquid, this is to make the sauce thick like guacamole.
And voila! There you have your sauce for the delicious fake guacamole.
