OKlahoma, fresh off a 2016 national championship, has been the named unanimous preseason number one by both the USA Today/NFCA Division I Coaches Poll and the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25.
The Sooners, 57-8 in the 2016 season, received all 32 first place votes in the USA Today/NFCA Poll and all 20 first place votes in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll.
The Sooners beat Auburn 2-1 last year to win the Women's College World Series. The team has 11 players returning this year, including junior left-handed pitcher Paige Parker, who was named Most Outstanding Player of the 2016 WCWS.
The team will open its season on Feb. 9 against Auburn in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge.
