acelebracion2013More than 30,000 people enjoyed the fireworks that filled the sky over the Banderas Bay in various shades of light which caused applause for about 30 minutes.

From an early hour locals and visitors began to arrive to the heart of Puerto Vallarta, a place which for more than a decade has received a special attraction as the city welcoming the New Year. Hence, people from all over the world travel to this destination in order to take part of a party that has been characterized by joy and color on the shores of the Mexican Pacific.

Caps in silver and gold with the words “Feliz Año Nuevo”, Happy New Year, abounded on the heads of the thousands of pedestrians who were not afraid of the small raindrops which announced the arrival of an early rain. Neither did they stop the music nor the joy which was easily sensed in this atmosphere, charged with hope and desire for renewal.

Groups of people crowded to sit or place their chairs, ready to enjoy the show which was a joint effort by the Fideicomiso de Turismo de Puerto Vallarta and the Municipality, headed by mayor Ramon Martinez Guerrero to the delight of those present.
Where they could find free space, young people were dancing to various types of music which would satisfy all tastes.

Visitors from Guadalajara, Nayarit, Sinaloa, Michoacan, Mexico City, Guanajuato and Baja California Sur enthusiastically applauded every time the presenter sent them greetings, but no ovation overshadowed the claps of the Vallarta residents, the proud hosts who showed their love and belonging to the homeland and its splendid coast.

At 10 p.m. the party was in full swing, walkers strolled everywhere on the sidewalk of the Malecón, the beach promenade, which was just minutes from burst, while in the waters of the bay, dozens of ships were waiting to enjoy the midnight fireworks whose undulating lights reinforced the party atmosphere that flooded the city center.

For the safety of those present, the Public Safety, the Traffic Police, the Fire Brigade and the Civil Protection of the state and municipal levels, set up their “Operation End of the Year 2012” which ranged from Playa Camarones to Playa de Los Muertos, without neglecting other areas. Moreover, there were more than 150 people and 15 vehicles including ambulances, ATVs, and patrolling security boats, engaged in order to cover the area during the New Year's Eve party.

Thus at midnight, a burst of thunder and light came to welcome 2013, in an event that was lit by half an hour of multicolored fireworks that filled the night of Vallarta with hopes to achieve an even better year for all.
