Emphasizes Coordination and Aid of The Citizen Cleaning Beaches

This is the program "Let us keep our beaches clean" carried out in the whole Federal Government through the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) and by the Municipal Government with the Office of Environment and Ecology.

A few days before the start of the work of cleaning and sanitation of beaches, which carried out citizens participating in the program “Mueve tus playas. Mantengamos nuestras playas limpias”,("Move your beaches. We keep our beaches clean"), Since gender is a multiplier effect of ecological awareness among national and foreign tourists and locals, those who have joined on a voluntary basis to the solid waste collection in the six beaches that comprises the program.

This was reported by the Assistant Director of Environment and Ecology of the Government of Puerto Vallarta, Luis Fernando González Guevara, who from the start of this  program that participates in a coordinated manner staff of the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) has toured the beaches by adding to the work of cleaning actions of environmental education.  

"The instructions of the President Municipal , Ramon Guerrero Martinez, were clear in the sense of keeping the house clean and generate conditions for citizen participation that are responsive to the needs of employment for the of vallarta and what better than to do this, we are in tune with the Federal Government ", explained the sciences teacher González Guevara.

In its passage through the beaches known as the Glorias,Los Muertos, Boca de Tomates, Marina Vallarta, Los Tules and Camarones, the participants of the program“Mueve tus playas” (Moves your beaches) have been greeted with acceptance by both tourists and local tourism service providers that receive instructions of where to deposit trash.

Given the effect of awareness that this promotes among tourists and locals alike, the Sub-directorate of Environment and Ecology considers propose to SEMARNAT that coordinated manner is of continuity to this Program in holiday seasons as a strategy more in favor of a natural environment healthy, safe, and certifiable quality.

It should be noted that to date have approximately 150 bags of trash collected with an advance of 9.7 kilometers of the coastal zone, by which it is expected that will be overcome with at least double the original target of 10 kilometers.
