Fishermen are Trying to Break the Records of the Fishing Tournament of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle

Riviera Nayarit will seek to break the record of 2012 when this year, starting next October 9, the 2nd International Sport Fishing Tournament of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle takes place, according to information provided by the Sport Fishing Club of Tepic.

The tournament will take place between the 9th and the 13th of October of this year and it is the second one organized by this club in the Marina Riviera Nayarit, where it started on the right foot last year.

"Last year we began a new chapter on fishing tournaments of Banderas Bay. We managed to impose four records: the largest number of participants, the most catches in an event, the biggest Marlin and the biggest Sailfish.

"This year we had our event in San Blas, which had 63 participating boats and was a record for its more than 52 years of life. If this number was reached, the participating teams would add up to 415 fishermen - between 4-5 for each team, plus their families and friends, who will visit La Cruz from as far away as the United States, Acapulco, Monterrey, Manzanillo, Barra de Navidad, Puerto Vallarta and San Blas.
