Environmental Festival at Leonardo Da Vinci School.

The Organization for Tree and Environmental Conservation, with the support of the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Laboratory of CUCosta, attended the Environmental Festival for World Earth Day. This day, celebrated on April 22nd, is an occasion to reflect on the importance of caring for our planet and promoting the conservation of its natural resources. This date emerged in 1970 in response to growing concerns about environmental degradation and the need to take measures to protect it. Since then, World Earth Day has become a global platform to raise awareness about environmental challenges and promote collective action.

On World Earth Day, various activities take place around the world, such as festivals in schools and universities, as well as beach and river clean-up campaigns, tree plantings, sustainability conferences, and environmental defense marches. These initiatives aim to generate greater commitment to planet protection and raise awareness among the population about the urgency of adopting more environmentally-friendly practices.

It is essential to recognize that climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and other environmental problems represent a threat not only to the environment but also to people's health and well-being. Therefore, World Earth Day invites us to assume our individual and collective responsibility in preserving the planet and seeking sustainable solutions. Additionally, this day reminds us of the interconnectedness of all living beings and the need to adopt a holistic and equitable approach to natural resource management. Promoting environmental justice and ensuring equitable access to a healthy environment are fundamental aspects of building a sustainable future for future generations. World Earth Day provides us with the opportunity to reflect on our role as stewards of the planet and to renew our commitment to environmental protection. It is a reminder that we can all make a difference and that together we can build a greener and more sustainable future for all.
