The president of the System for Integral Family Development (DIF) of Jalisco, Lorena Jassibe Arriaga de Sandoval, gave the starting signal to a shipment of humanitarian aid gathered at the collection centers of the rehabilitation center Casa Jalisco and its central offices, to support affected families in the wake of Tropical Storm "Manuel".

The support consists of 700 larders which include non-perishable and/or canned foods, in addition to cleaning and personal hygiene supplies.
Arriaga de Sandoval recognized the solidarity of the people of Jalisco: "Thank the people who have trusted us in the Collection Center. Tell them that today we will deliver in two municipalities, and the rest of the week we will also be delivering. We have 40 tons of food, today 700 larders are comming out."
This first shipment departed from the DIF Jalisco facilities in front of the Glorieta de La Normal, bound for the municipalities of Tuxpan and Tamazula de Gordiano, that suffered damages as a result of heavy rains.

"If there are volunteers who want to come with us to put together larders, we are waiting here at DIF Jalisco from 8:00 to 20:00, we will build larders this day and tomorrow", invited the president of the supporting organization.

For his part, the head of the Civil Protection System of the State DIF, Rafael Quintero Navarro, also emphasized the solidarity of the people of Jalisco and reiterated the request for support from volunteers to sort products, check expiration dates and package larders.

The official pointed out that, until further notice, the collection centers will continue to operate from 8:00 to 20:00 hours, Monday to Sunday. They are located in Avenida Alcalde No. 1220, in front of the Glorieta de La Normal, and at Casa Jalisco, in the Ontario Street entrance.

Non-perishable and/or canned food will be received, with an expiration date of no less than six months, especially beans, rice and oil, bottled water, baby food, personal hygiene products such as diapers for children and adults, as well as cleaning supplies.
