The repair of a pumping line will leave several neighborhoods without water, informs Seapal.
The Puerto Vallarta Potable Water, Drainage and Sewerage System (Seapal) will carry out this Thursday, March 10, an emergency repair of a leak in the line from the Cañadas Reboom Pump to the Vallarta Surface Tank, due to the deterioration of its useful life. The crews of the Potable Water Distribution Department will perform the intervention to the 20-inch diameter pipe starting at 9:00 a.m., work that could last at least 6 hours. This line carries an average flow of 125 liters per second of potable water treated at the Las Mojoneras Iron and Manganese Removal Plant, to supply almost 50 neighborhoods in the El Pitillal district, especially those located in the upper part. As a result, the neighborhoods of San Nicolas, Laguna del Valle, Joyas del Pedregal, La Trinidad, Brisas del Pacifico, San Miguel, 12 de Octubre and Palma Real will have their water supply reduced as of 3:00 this Thursday afternoon, with service tentatively resuming in the early hours of Friday morning.
Due to several actions carried out by the agency in its infrastructure during the last weeks, especially in the Radial Well, the main tanks of the system have shown a gradual improvement in their levels, a positive situation that has been reflected in the pressures in the network and in the supply to homes. This scenario will allow mitigating some of the effects in most of the neighborhoods of the delegation, however, during the afternoon and evening of Thursday it is not ruled out that low pressure or lack of water may occur, especially in the neighborhoods located in the higher areas. Seapal Vallarta appreciates the understanding of the citizens in view of these urgent works and invites them to store water beforehand and ration its use for the most basic activities as much as possible
